A Child Will Lead the Way

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world
The children in all their wisdom will care for 
Our Earth as it ages

All things break and all
Things can be mended

And we look to our ocean waters
That are contaminated
A group of conscientious children
Decide to start cleaning the beaches

The Right whales are endangered
All things break and all
Things can be mended

New Social justice-safer ocean
Newer life may happen

Not with time, as they say, but with intention
All things break and all things can be mended

Called from a dream 
I saw the calm sea
The waves coming and going
Reminding me of Thich Nhat Hahn’s:
“No birth, no death.”

Maybe in another life
It will become clearer
That we are all one

Life cycles like clouds moving
The children continue their journey
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world
