FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hemetera?
Hemetera is an online and print publication designed and developed by students enrolled in EN 202 at Regis College. We work to publish and promote creative endeavors from the Regis College community, including students, faculty, and staff.
Who can submit to Hemetera?
Any current student, faculty, or staff member can submit to Hemetera. We are also thrilled to publish works by our alumni!
What type of submissions do you accept?
We accept poetry, fiction, Creative Non Fiction, images/photography, and this year, we are also accepting stellar academic essays!
What if I have never written creatively before?
Just because you haven’t yet, doesn’t mean you can’t. Consider coming to any of our workshop writing events or open mics and lets see what you create!
Is there a limit to how many pieces I can submit?
While we do strive to publish as many creative works as you can submit, we also want to be sure to give every student an equal opportunity to be featured in the magazine. Start by sending us just a few pieces–3-5 poems or short prose or 1 short story or longer piece–and then we can go from there!
We can’t wait to see what you submit!
How can I join Hemetera?
To join Hemetera (EN 202), you must be a current student at Regis College. It’s simple to join, and those who participate in the course play an active role in producing both the content and design direction of each edition. Learn more here and then join our team!
