Self-Bound

my healing process cannot

be delayed

i am just meeting myself 

we are in the process of  

getting to know one another 

finding our favorite songs  

staying up all hours of the  

night in conversation  

going for long  

car rides after dark  

windows down  

dancing barefoot in the rain  

i am  

reintroducing myself to  

the girl in the mirror

she is plenty  

she fills my void

she, 

she is my  

rebound  

in fact, 

she, 

she is  

self-bound
